David Meredith: My name is David Meredith and I’m your host for this edition of the Inc Plan USA Small Business Review Internet Broadcast. Our guest is Mr. Jacques Luben, Editor of the review. Good evening Jacques, could you outline the primary reasons that your clients require mail accounts for their activities?
Jacques Luben: Good evening David, there are basically four reasons why someone would set up a mail forwarding account.
David Meredith: Could you tell us a little bit about each of those benefits?
Jacques Luben: First one is privacy, the second is convenience, the third is prestige and the last one is cost savings. A mail forwarding account offers privacy simply because there’s certain type of mail that you don’t wanna receive in your house if you have a home office situation or even at your office. So what happens is your mail is diverted to a mail forwarding address and it is totally private.
The second is tied to the first in a sense, it’s the convenience of knowing that if you’re away from your home office that your mail still is going to a safe place, it’s not building up and you can get your mail anytime you like.
The third element is prestige and what I mean by that is that Inc Plan USA offers a very special type of mail forwarding service. We are tied in with the World Trade Center in Delaware and as a result a lot of our clients become members of the World Trade Center so that their companies receive mail at that World Trade Center address. Because in the end a lot of business owners understand that particularly if they’re working out of their houses as independent contractors or if they’re starting a small home business that it really doesn’t make a very good impression to list your home as an address. So what you’re doing is you’re upgrading your presence and once you’ve already set up a corporation, that in and of itself is an upgrade to who you are. So in many cases the mail forwarding service is purchased by the client in conjunction with the formation of a corporation.
Think about it, if you just left a big company as an employee and you’re starting for example a business as a consultant, it sounds a lot better to be Joe Smith, President of Smith International Consultants Inc with an address at the World Trade Center than to be Joe Smith working out of your bedroom. So really mail forwarding fits into the concept of developing a proper business image.
David Meredith: Do you require your clients to be incorporated before you offer them mail forwarding services?
Jacques Luben: No most of our clients are incorporated but it’s certainly not a strict requirement.
David Meredith: Well that sounds terrific Jacques, what’s my first step if I wanna start a mail forwarding service?
Jacques Luben: Well it’s basically tied to whether or not you start a business; if you decide to start a business and mail forwarding makes sense, give us a call, we’ll go over whether or not it really is something you need. We’ll estimate how much volume of mail you expect to receive, we’ll normally anticipate that it’ll be at a low level to start and price it accordingly and then we hope that your mail forwarding will grow as your business grows.
David Meredith: Well thank you Jacques for that valuable information. If you’re interested in contacting Inc Plan, you can do so online: Click Here to contact us. Or call us toll free 800 462 4633, that’s 1800 462 4633.
